MT4 (Windows)

To install an Expert Advisor for automated or algorithmic trading, follow these steps:

1. Open the MT4 platform
2. Select ‘File’ from the main menu
3. Click on ‘Open Data Folder’ to bring up a new folder panel
4. Select the ‘MQL4’ folder, followed by the ‘Experts’ file
5. Drag and drop your EA file(s) into this folder
6. Restart MetaTrader 4 for your changes to take effect

Please consult the EA/Indicator's provider for installation troubleshooting or any issues associated with the EA.

MT4 (Mac)

Before installing any Expert Advisors, you will need to ensure you have copied the EA to a folder on your Mac.

1. Login to the Axi MT4 trading platform.
2. Go to ‘File,’ then ‘Open Data Folder.’ A window will appear on your screen.
3. Navigate to ‘My Computer,’ then ‘Z Drive,’ then ‘Users’.
4. Within the ‘Users’ file, locate your EAs and Indicators. For demonstration purposes, we have created a folder on our desktop and named it EAs. Select the EA, right-click, and click ‘Copy.’
5. By pressing the green upwards arrow, you can navigate back to the MQL 4 folder. Within MQL4 you will find subfolders called ‘Experts’ and ‘Indicators’.
6. Open ‘Experts,’ right-click, and click ‘Paste.’ Your EA should now be copied into the ‘Experts’ folder. When you have finished copying all your EAs and indicators, close the window by clicking on the red spot on the top left-hand side.
7. You will need to close your MT4 platform and reopen it, then the newly installed EAs should be displayed in the ‘Navigator’ window under ‘Expert Advisors’.

MT4 App (Android & iOS)

Unfortunately, Expert Advisors cannot be used on the MetaTrader 4 app for Android or iOS app.
