How to start trading with Axi?
Once your account has been verified you will receive an email from Axi with your new account details. Use the information and links provided to download the MT4 trading platform on your preferred device (e.g., desktop, laptop, tablet). Once the software has been installed, log in using the account number and password details provided in the email and you will be able to start trading.
Please note: Before you can place a trade, you must first make a deposit into your account (if you have not done so already). You can do this directly through the Axi Client Portal, or refer to the Add Funds page on our website.
Choosing a trading platform
Axi offers a range of trading platforms/terminals that make it convenient to place trades in global financial markets. Once you have opened an Axi trading account, choose from any of the following trading platforms:
- MetaTrader 4 (MT4) for PC/desktop/laptop
- MT4 trader (for browser-based trading)
- MT4 for mobile devices
To download any of our trading platforms, please refer to the MetaTrader 4 page on our website.
Please note: Axi does not currently offer access to the MT5 trading platform, and access to MT5 cannot be gained through an MT4 account (and vice versa).
Adding symbols to trade
Axi offers a wide selection of individual products (instruments) to trade through the MT4 platform. To find or add a new product to trade, follow the steps below:
- Login to MT4
- Go to the “Market Watch” window – this is located on the right side of your MT4 trading terminal (desktop and web version)
- Right-click and select “Symbols.” This will display a list of all the instruments available to trade.
- Find an instrument you want to trade, click “Show” (or “Show All” if you want to add all available instruments), and then close the window.
The Market Watch window will now display the trade instrument you selected. To view the pricing chart for this instrument, simply click and drag the newly added symbol to the chart window.
How do I know when markets are open?
Knowing when markets are open and closed can have an important effect on your trading. To view trading session times for individual trading instruments, simply log into MT4, right-click on the instrument you want to trade, and then select “Specifications.” You will then be able to view detailed information about that instrument, including the Market hours.
This information can also be found in the Product Schedule.
How do I know if I have enough money to open a trade position?
The money required to open and maintain a leveraged trading position is known as the margin. It is vital to ensure you retain enough margin in your account at all times, or else your trades may be automatically stopped out.
To help calculate the margin, please refer to our online Trading Calculator.
More information about Margin can be found in this article.
